Anne is a former competitive skater and speed skater and also a biologist and former chemist. Anne's academic background is in the hard sciences and she holds degrees in both Biology and Chemistry. While in college, she was awarded the A.B. and Irene Rogers Biology Scholarship for academic achievement in her field. She has worn many hats in the science field having worked as a field biologist for the Watershed Protection Department, in the Chemistry and Microbiology Department of Clinical Pathology Laboratories, and as a Behavioral Health Educator for The Austin Diagnostic Clinic. Currently, when she is not working at Playland, she works in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. She is also a Youth Exercise Specialist and has over 20 years of experience working with kids and coaching youth programs.
She grew up competing in speed competitions in the Dallas area and was known to roller skate through the halls of her high school. She played roller hockey in college and then turned to roller derby and was drafted by TXRD. There she helped take her team to the championship three years in a row and was selected for the All Star Team. During her tenure there, she was nominated for Rookie of the Year, MVP, Best Jammer and Crowd Favorite (which she won every year of her involvement).
When she's not working, Anne enjoys coaching her son's football team, skating the Veloway, running, playing air hockey and watching the weather channel.
