That’s right, we’re looking for rockstars with great personality and a lot of energy to add to the Playland Skate Center team and help us take over the roller skating world. Ideal rockstars must be able to commit to a part time position at the rink working evenings and weekends, and are comfortable working in a fast pace environment.

What do Playland rockstars do?

In addition to interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, our rockstars also pass out skates and put them away at the end of a skating session. They assist with birthday parties by checking in the guests and also hosting the party, and facility upkeep of the rink.

What does it take to be a Playland rockstar?

Someone with an upbeat personality, strong communication skills and a great attitude. Our rockstars are always friendly and outgoing, ready to take on any challenge. Rockstars are also quick learners that are also skaters themselves. Last, but not least, a Playland rockstar must be a “people person,” someone comfortable interacting with our customers (adults and children).

3 Ways To Improve Your Skating Endurance

Speed roller skating warm up In order to maximize your skating workout, you want to have as much stamina as possible, right? Right. So the Playland team has put together some easy tips to improving your skating endurance. Take a look.

Stretch – It is important to make sure to stretch before doing any kind of work out and roller skating is no exception. Stretch your legs, thighs, hips and torso-these areas are used the most when roller skating.

Intervals – When building endurance, especially in the beginning, it can be difficult to give it your all for a long time. This is why you push yourself in intervals. Work as hard as you can for about 20 seconds and then rest for 40 to 45 seconds. Repeat the pattern 15 to 20 times. Focus on the intensity.

Weights – When you feel comfortable, add weights to your roller skating workout. You can grab dumbbells or add leg weights. No matter which option you select, you will be building your leg muscles and ultimately increasing your roller skating endurance.

With these quick tips you will be able to take advantage of your roller skating endurance and start increasing it today. When building endurance, be sure to listen to your body and know the signs of exhaustion. Building endurance takes time, so be patient with yourself and keep pushing toward your goal.
